Statue of Zhou Yu

Statue of Zhou Yu

The stone statue of Zhou Yu, which stands on the top of Chibi Mountain, was completed in the autumn of 1990 and was designed by the Hubei Provincial Museum. The base of the statue is 2 meters wide and 3 meters long, and the portrait is 6.58 meters high. It is carved from 26 pieces of granite.
Zhou Yu's war robe is well designed. The southeast wind blows and the war robe floats to the northwest, which is consistent with the wind direction of the altar of Kongming. On the other hand, it looks like a stone wall, which is in line with "Red Cliff. The design of the base is ingenious. The lines carved by the knife and the axe symbolize the stunning waves of the shore. The three levels are a metaphor of "rolling up dry and piling up snow", which is taken from Su Shi's words and also a metaphor for the tripartite confrontation of the three kingdoms.
